The party went super well. Better than expected. There are no words to say how thankful I am to everyone who made this party possible! Despite a little damper which was the aircon temperature (so sorry to all my guests for that!), everything was perfect, from food, setting, ambience, music, cake. I was so afraid the food was not gonna be good, and the cake was going to be super meh even though it looked all pretty, but it ALL turned out perfect. (You have to understand I can't taste the food before the party, or try the cake first, everything was just done trusting that it'll be okay, it'll be acceptable, it'll be great.) The amount of trust I placed in the cake shop and the cafe hosting my event is.... really... so much I'm shocked at myself. I mean, I'm the number one queen for reminders and reminding people what to do haha and for this cafe/bar, I really didn't bug the host at all but merely asked her questions so I could think of how to decorate the place and stuff.
There are few special people I want to shout out a word of thanks to:
First of all, Jingsheng (more lovingly called JS).
You are the bestest, most supportive, most initiative and most resourceful and perfectionist person I have ever known. There are so many parts of my birthday party plan that were executed so well and so smoothly I think I really had my socks blown off. Thank you for planning my party with me, making sure every detail is 100% to my liking and also tolerating all the mini squabbles we had from March to the week before the party. (For two people who are so particular about everything, you can imagine the squabbles we have are about things that others probably won't notice, like i.e. font size, font choice, paper weight, paper choice when printing my birthday cards, hahaha.)
Thank you for the great birthday invitation design which we both put together (after more squabbling hahaha), making crazy trips up and down sourcing for locations (we had all the luck and only went to one place actually, but we had to go so many times to this one place to make sure the location is perfect!), searching out quaint balloon suppliers/shops, researching all day and night to get the most value for money birthday cake (Btw, birthday cakes are so ridiculously priced! Really! You really have to choose between having something pretty for photos, or not so pretty but really yummy), designing the banner, decorating the place... etc.
Thank you for the roses during the party!!! They were a surprise planned with the hosts of the event and JS, and it arrived when I went out to get my dress which I left in the car. I mean it was pure coincidence that I left my dress in the car and had to go get it myself an hour before the party so the surprise could go as planned. The hosts were so, so, so absolutely good at playing along and playing stupid if I asked them for anything haha. I think at the end of the party I did feel like a fool cos I didn't even smell a rat...
The party could not have been an existence without you (because I can't stand being the solo person in the limelight, I love company!), and also, couldn't be a success with you. Haha my favourite part was the protocol, an 8-page manual for our Saturday plans, from a time-plan, appendixes, maps to drive here and there and whatever info we need to flow smoothly, in a stack of papers. It really was our party bible to some extent! It really was my favourite because I loved how organized it was and how efficient we became because of it!
Thank you for all the love, all the care, all the patience you had with me for approximately 1.75 years. You are truly a gift from God to me, and proof that God is always watching over my life and giving me blessings indirectly through you. :)
Love, and more,
Louisa

Thank you Yessica & Claire for being the best hosts I have ever worked with! I think a plus point is that I'm working with a bunch of young people (below 30) so they were more flexible about all our random planned surprises or the giant cake box and stuff like that. I think they were so massively helpful and nice about everything!

Thank you Jamin & Sebastian for being my party photographers! Considering my immense love for photography, I really wanted good photos, and since I couldn't photograph my own party (because I am finally the subject of attention... *cough cough* haha), I knew I could trust these two people whom I have worked with (sort of) and also seen the photos they've taken! Thank you for being so dedicated and so, so nice about coming early and letting me boss you two around for 5 hours thereabout. I hope you two enjoy the little token I got you! (Btw I love the instax films J took. They were perfectly framed and close enough to see the face without exposing all our flaws haha! Awesome!)

Thanks Cheryl for coming earlier to help me disentangle the balloons haha which were being such a bitch and were so super, super frustrating to disentangle! Although you felt like you didn't really do much during the party (because there wasn't much to do anyway...), thanks for being my best friend, and making the trip down straight after your meeting, and not going for the church event running at 5-7pm just to help me out! Haha sorry for being so crabby on Friday night because of your giving me a mini heart attack when you sounded like you weren't coming because of a miscommunication issue. Well thank God you could come to my party, and also be early!!!

Thanks Lynette for lending me the car to run my errands ALL DAY.

Thanks Clarissa & Adrick for making it down despite your busy schedule with the little twin stars! I'm really, really thankful because I really wanted my whole family, extended and direct altogether to be there. Somehow for me, a party without any family just didn't seem meaningful at all! Well, you two made it!

Last but not least, I want to thank God for everything.
1. For giving me a chance to celebrate my birthday & have every aunt and uncle attend it despite their schedules (my aunt specially didn't go for her company event because she said she had already promised me - so sweet right!) Considering everything that my family has been through over 2011, I think the last time that we really had a little fun and silly joy was just too long ago and I really wanted to have a pick-me-up for everybody you know, a relaxed evening, just being happy/excited for something... Well, something like that.
2. For perfect timing. Despite a few very-small-hiccups in our little 8-page-21st-birthday-procedure, we manage to do everything in good time and yet not be all sweaty and flustered. Also, every single person I invited came for the party, except 1 guy! That gives me every reason to be completely ecstatic because everyone I wanted to share this day with came! ;)
3. For perfect weather. It seemed like it was gonna rain since 3pm but it didn't! The party at level one of my location was cancelled because of the forecasted poor weather, but thank goodness it didn't rain so my friends and guests wouldn't have to struggle about in the rain just to get to and from my party! Phew, phew, cos I would have felt so bad...
4. For great people. Through this event I have really witnessed how nice are some of my friends and how I should really treasure the true buddies. I have read so many heartwarming birthday cards which accompanied presents but somehow I appreciated the cards so much more than the gifts! I mean, some of them I just looked at the card and I laughed and teared. Well, emo but hey, it was so touching! Some of them also put in a lot of effort into the cards, or hand-made gifts. One word: Wow.
5. For good health. Just a week before the party I completely lost my voice and after I regained it, I still had this husky, awful, raspy voice and I couldn't eat anything non-soupy and my throat hurt when I swallowed and I simply felt like a sick dog. I really wanted to sing a thank-you song for everyone who made the time, but by the time I regained my voice proper, I didn't have time to practice, and my voice is still rather shaky and I'm super paranoid I might lose it again!
All in all, I am just really blown away by so many people's big hearts and dedication. I'm not even a cryer, and I cried... So that's really the sign that this thing, whatever it is, it really got to me.
I'm thankful.
