It started with a mad search for girl guides' cookies... and then an email, and we were notified that they were selling them at selected FairPrice outlets from the 22nd to 30th of November. Here's the box of Chocolate Mint cookies I got. They don't seem to taste as sinful and yummy as I remember, but well, still good stuff. A pretty nice design for this year's box too!
So we got too bored, and the pasar malam at our place was supposedly supposed to be gone by Tuesday but somehow was still there 5 days after that Tuesday. *confused* Oh well. Means more late night Ramly burgers and cup corn. It's so sad how our "street food" is only so temporal and only comes about once a while...
I wish pasar malams (loosely translated to "street market" I guess) appear more frequently! I think they come around once to twice a year per area, that's pretty rare if you ask me. I'm not complaining though. Though these pasar malams often bring cheap thrills to the people around the area, offering the great honey chicken (the big piece of chicken chop you can get from Shih Lin and Hot Star) which always tastes so much better than the commercialised Shih Lin Taiwan snacks, they also bring along the smelly tofu, which really, haha, um, stinks up the whole area. Some people do find the smelly tofu smell quite enticing though. I'm not one of those haha.
