Valentines' Day 2013

♥ ♥

A simple summary of how last night went.

So the spelling nazi misspelt something hahaha.

He's actually not-so-recently attained the nickname of "Market Spoiler" as you can see from the comments. Haha. I'm not being mean, because I am completely convinced he is out to outdo others - which basically means I reap some, if not all of the benefits of that obsession hahaha.

He put together 14 days worth of a Valentines' Day Lookbook for me because I love browsing beautiful consumer goods and appreciating marketing ploys and well-executed advertisements.

Just a sneak peek at 14 Feb's lookbook 'entry'. It's the clutch he gave me, along with the Tiffany & Co blue box and its contents. The reason why he got me the blue box was because we once discussed the idea of the "blue box" - in the discussion I said, "Every girl gets a blue box at least once in her lifetime. It's a supposed rite of passage." (Disclaimer: Western context)

To be frank, I don't quite care about or indulge in branded brands. (i.e. Kate Spade, Coach, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry, Agnes B, Cartier, Pandora). One or two good quality items is enough for me. My motivation for getting branded stuff mostly stems from... quality and not so much that the brand should reflect my personality.

Ok but back to the topic, I honestly said that statement... with
1. no intention of hinting to him that I wanted one.
2. my typical honest and direct answer towards such questions (I have a certain belief system of how the world works even though I don't necessarily conform to it.)

We talked about that after a romantic-comedy movie... Who takes such random talk seriously?

Well, anyway I got it - so maybe girls who do aspire to own one or many Tiffany products, go ahead and try that line. Hahaha!

Florescent pink beats red anytime. The wonder of dyed flowers is that they die in that colour and do not turn black like red roses do. (My previous blue roses, though now dead, are not particularly wilted and are still a nice turquoise blue, how pretty!)

I have armpit fat too. I am so happy, I don't care and I am still posting this photo haha.

My eyelids look really defined here.

Awesome bread as usual.

Had our appetisers changed as we can't take oysters - so we had this tuna dish and salad. This tuna looks and tastes like a fatty beef steak. It's like toasty on the outside, and slightly uncooked on the inside (deliberate). It was like a tuna sashimi that tasted like beef. Too refreshing on the mouth!

This looks like vomit but it's super appetising. Really opens up your tummy to receive more food! I would say it's a thinner version of the chinese fish glue (Coca Restaurant serves it!) but of course, way nicer.

Amazing stuff, my first time having foie gras and I now declare that it's so good I can eat it everyday hahaha. It feels like the piece of fat connected to the beef steak! (I understand my comparisons mainly allude to the cow and beef, but I extremely love beef steaks and would say I'm an ultimate carnivore!)

Some crazy fresh trout. The fish was so good that JS had to be so completely anti-climatic and google an image of the real fish.

JS: "Eh, this is what we're eating now!"
Me: -_-
JS: "Why can't they just serve us the whole fish instead of this small fraction of it?"

Back to the REAL food pictures.

Awesome beef tenderloin and potato mash! Our last dish before the dear dessert came...

Bringing to you, the awfully sweet looking (and tasting) dessert...

JS: "*gasp* The dessert is too pretty, can I not eat it and bring it home?"

Pardon me, but this sounds like it's supposed to be said by the girl. Haha.

My reply... "But you paid to eat it..."

HAHA.

The counter staff took this and she officially won the worst photographer award... This is the second shot she took (the first one is a shaky shot -_-). Haha. There's us with our complimentary balloon, complimentary parking coupon and a complimentary lovey-dovey themed muffin. They also gave us a complimentary instax, taken for us!

Everyone loves free stuff!!!

Balloons! They bothered with many decorations.

Before I could take a nice photo of it, I smashed the muffin trying to juggle my tote, the balloon, the muffin and my mobile phone. -_- The muffin was really good!

To end off, two photos from my Instagram. For those who haven't already followed me, go follow my instagram at @lxuisa! ;)

I hope all of you have had an awesome day, with friends, family or your partners. If your boyfriend or girlfriend doesn't spend heaps of money on you on this particular day... it doesn't mean that they love you any less. Love languages! Know yours and your partner's today...

It is better to have a partner who treats you well on a daily basis, than a partner who only lavishes nice things, words, dinners, flowers on two days of a year. (Valentines' Day and your birthday). ;)

♥ ♥

Finally, my outfit of the day.

Peplum Bustier Top in Cream (Served no boosting purposes whatsoever haha), floral jeans, penny loafers from G. H. Bass, Mango bag, paired with red lips. A pretty unlike-me outfit, but I wanted to be slightly different on V. Day and go for something non-skirt and non-dress. :)
