Mustard and khaki. Not my favourite colours on the spectrum, but Sunday felt like a day to experiment with it! Besides, I really wanted to wear this new mustard pair of shorts I bought 9 months back from Bangkok.
So here's Sunday's outfit - Proof that you don't have to spend a bomb (all the time) to put together a presentable look. My shorts cost S$4 (100 baht) from Bangkok, while the blazer and tank top cost S$25 and S$5 respectively.
There, outfit damage totals S$34 - that price can't even get you a pair of jeans at Zara!
Accessories cost a lot more: Bag's from Zara and the suede tassel flats are from Steve Madden. Those cost a bomb compared to the above items, but a good handbag, and a good pair of flats will certainly take you far! To put it flatly, a proper bag, and a proper pair of quality shoes will cause you less discomfort, last much longer, and function better at its purpose (i.e. carrying heavy stuff, walking mileage) in the long run. However, branded shoes and bags are not a necessity, especially if you're a student, like me.
Moral of the story: Look past the mindset that fashion and style is only for people with lots of money to spend. You can always find a good buy somewhere if you open your eyes a little bigger and go out and experience life a bit more!
