Spent the last few days being unwell with cough, flu and a fever, and it was definitely miserable. The medications were making me drowsy, but every time I tried to sleep, my horizontal position made it hard to breathe.
Today, this lady made a beeline for the seat next to me on the train, but immediately when she heard me cough once, in that split second, she changed her mind and sat (10 seats away in an empty train, mind you) diagonally opposite me. Not only did I feel terrible sniffling away, I felt OSTRACISED. Haha.
On a happier note, since I was feeling a little better today though still with a slight fever, I decided to spend the afternoon cooking up a late lunch for myself, and an extra portion for JS's dinner, deliver dinner, and head to the clinic.
Here's my first attempt at Aglio Olio with sausage and Steamed Buttered Broccoli!
In case you're wondering if I'm a cooking noob, I quite am. Prior to today, I only know how to make chicken soup (from scratch), rice, pork chop, creamy pastas, simple noodles with vegetables and fishballs, and I think that's about it. Today I can add aglio olio and steamed buttered broccoli to my list!
I wouldn't count instant noodles as cooking, so I'm not adding that in. Haha.

The result? The aglio olio was edible but to me it didn't turn out too well as it was too oily. I think I went a little overboard with the olive oil, haha, but unexpectedly, the broccoli turned out great! I would say it was a surprise-dinner-delivery success!
Considering the fun I had fooling around in the kitchen today, ah, I might start cooking a lot more from now on.
Any volunteers who want to try my kitchen experiments?
