A closer look at the heels from Hush Puppies. Height's at 4.33"/11cm. True to Hush Puppies' branding message, the heels are the most comfortable heels I have ever worn. Had them on for 10 hours straight before the balls of my feet began to hurt (from the abrasion, rather than blisters/cuts) for the last hour. Guess I must get my hands on those gel cushions (to be placed inside the shoe) soon.
I love how heels complete any smart-casual look but my height has generally rendered them quite unnecessary. I'm not particularly tall, just standing at 166cm, but wearing heels generally makes my head stick out (way too much) in a crowd, and the attention that comes with it (a sticking-out head) somewhat makes me uncomfortable.
For myself, every single time I put on a pair of heels (not often at all...), I get disapproving stares from older ladies (say 30+ years old onwards), and that look which says it all, "So tall already still wear so high heels". Sometimes they even say it out loud and shake their heads. Of course, there are normal people who just ignore you or look at you and simply mumble to their friend, "wow, so tall" or "wow, her heels are really high". I do that too, I see girls and guys on the street who are above 170cm and 180cm respectively and I'm like "aww, wish I was that tall".
With that said, here's a little fun fact I found: "The average height (50th centile) for adult Singaporean men is about 170cm and that for Singaporean women is about 158cm."
However, with the number of tall females my age I'm seeing on the streets nowadays, I really doubt the average height is that short at 158cm, but I do think the average height for the men has shrunk a little.
Hmm. Now why is that?
