Day 5 was a pretty relaxed day for us. We cafe-hopped and explored the pricier areas in Garosu-gil and Apgujeong, moving on to visit some must-see K-pop merchandise places (just for the feel of being like tourists). Looking back, we even went to one of the few bubble tea stores in Seoul to get our bubble tea fix - and that bubble tea store is apparently one frequented by many K-pop stars. I don't think bumping or seeing any of them would contribute to much of our amusement but I think we were on a Korea-high and most activities seemed exciting at the time. LOL. #truetourist
Breakfast at Hongdae
Much like how QB House in Singapore works (where you pay for the service first via a machine, then present your card/coupon to someone to serve you), you buy a food ticket from this ticket machine then present your paid-for coupon to the friendly ajumma to submit your order. It's incredibly interesting
Supposedly our date-day so we dressed up a little bit, opposed to our usual chill outfits. This turned out to be possibly the heaviest skirt in the world, so it made me quite tired for the day. Just look at my face here (-_-).
Coffee Smith (Garosu-gil)
I fell in love with this place. Enough said.
Interesting layout, abundant space, incredible industrial interiors (my favourite!)...
The best part was the indie and hipster k-crowd. Definitely the perfect place to people-watch - especially with the elevated level-two seats where you can see all the cool kids passing by the cafe! :)
The Matcha Ice Blended and the Strawberry Shortcake were... delish.
I suppose when you really like something, it really shows. Hahaha. I look quite pleased here.

Cofioca Bubble Tea
So I paid S$8.50 for Taro Milk Tea...
There's Gong Cha in Seoul, but it's incredibly expensive and had slightly different menu choices. Paying S$5-7 for Gong Cha in Seoul? No thanks! Fortunately, this pricey bubble tea store serves up decent bubble tea - and frankly after 4+ days in Seoul, we did miss bubble tea and pearls...
Autographs of the many K-pop artists who passed by here.
Loved Seoul for all the quaint and interestingly-designed standalone cafes!
It's too bad we don't have the space/budget to ever have such creative stand-alone stores and cafes like these, in Singapore.
Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup 삼계탕 (pronounced as Samgyetang)
Samgyetang is a Korean dish where a whole young chicken is stuffed with glutinous rice and boiled in a broth of Korean ginseng, dried seeded jujube fruits, garlic, and ginger. It's thought to have healing properties such as helping common sicknesses in Korea! Well, we had a very laborious day trekking around on foot... We definitely felt a lot better after this indulgent meal at this particularly famous Samgyetang restaurant.
Awesome menu photography is half the battle won! We wanted to order more just because the dishes looked too good.
Cat's Attic Cat Cafe at Hongdae
Not for the faint-hearted of non-cat lovers. Hahaha. Cats give me incredibly good memories because... I'd always have to rescue a certain person from my neighbourhood's stray cats (even though they do nothing to her but... uh, sit on her car) haha.
With that said, it was the first time I was exposed to so many cats at one go. Honestly I was pretty apprehensive most of the time because I never knew how cats operated (and they kept trying to go into the cupboard where I stuffed my bag haha). There were so many occurrences of back-arching - which clearly isn't a good sign on any day. But the cats were pretty friendly in general, and so furry you can literally die (my nose felt so clogged after the session hahaha)!
The cats were quite fun to be around! They really didn't give a care in a world, allowed you to do whatever you wanted with them, and just sat around or chased some random thrown-around cat toys.
The funniest part was a certain customer who was possibly dragged into the Cat Cafe by her friends... Basically she spent the most part of her time cowering at the corner of the cafe. We felt pretty bad, but, it was quite amusing to watch.
A pretty chill date-day with not much activities, compared to Days 1 to 4, so don't mind me if this post is rather short and not very exciting. Haha.
