Seriously, I would just pass out in shock if I ever encountered such a huge parrot... Haha.
Previously, this attraction was "Songs of the Sea" which I also watched about 3 years back. "Songs of the Sea" tells a story of a yellow fish called Oscar and his sea explorations.
Got in shortly before the show started so we had a visual treat - some really nice blue-purple-orange hues of the sunset streaked across the sky!
We also got food and drinks to accompany our night show. I might add that the National Day release of McDonald's Shiok Shiok Chicken Satay Burger is delicious! We're kind of huge fans of McDonald's, regardless of how many people say how terrible it is for our health/size of our tummies. We try our best to try every localised and new burger every time they launch. :P
The recent World Cup Chicken Caramba Burger was pretty disappointing though, but the satay gravy in this Shiok Shiok Satay Burger was true to the authentic taste!
The outdoor theatre was packed! The "Wings of Time" is a rain-or-shine event, so if it rains, the show will continue as per normal and you'll need an umbrella/poncho!
The huge parrot Shahbaz enters the scene. Hahaha.
One of my favourite sections: Shahbaz (i.e. big bird) travels through time and gets to this volcanic/tribal period where there's a long display of fire effects. Feel your face warm up with all the fire effects used!
So here's the humans Rachel and Felix...
Now, kiss!
I'm kidding hahaha. At that moment, I thought they were a pair of lovers, but I realised the story was set around a friendship between 2 adventurous kids. Here's a damsel-in-distress moment where she falls and almost drowns in the sea, and the gentlemanly male saves her. She says "Oh Felix, you saved me!" and they hug.
I burst out laughing at how cheesy this section was.
The under-the-sea section was breathtaking. Impressive detailing and screen resolution, along with the prettiest water displays.
The Africa section reflected a lot of Lion King imagery with really nice accompanying music. It did feel a little like a Lion-King rip-off, but... I totally understand Africa is hard to depict any other way... Haha.
My favourite of the scenes: The geometric shape scene! The most colourful and electrifying section with the best music accompaniment (electronic club-style music). This is one part to look out for!
The show ended with a refreshing display of fireworks! My advice for any photographers would be to snap this section of the show on burst-shot mode. Many different firework designs are fired at the same time (and it ended in about 2 minutes max). Naturally, I think most of the show costs come from this firework section. So make your money's worth by shooting this! *laugh*
All in all, the "Wings of Time" is great to watch if you're looking for somewhere new to explore with your significant other. The music compositions were really melodious and catchy, without bordering on annoying (for e.g. repeated same happy beat-looping that makes you feel like you're going mad after 10 minutes).
I wonder if the same people behind this production have ever composed the National Day songs. I think if the National Day songs were composed by these people in the future, we'll have much more sellable and mass-market-appeal songs that sound good to the masses. I mean we have to admit that the recent 2-3 National Day songs were difficult to learn and not very catchy...
"Wings of Time" is S$15 per pax for Singaporean Citizens and Permanent Residents, S$18 for tourists, and premium seating (middle of the viewing gallery with individual seating) cost S$23. The show lasts about 15-20 minutes which comes up to S$1 a minute, so take as many photos and videos as you possibly can!
Compared with the previous "Songs of the Sea" at this same viewing gallery (which "Wings of Time" has now replaced), the former had a lot more crowd participation, cute music (think Disney and Dora the Explorer) and a proper storyline. On the other hand, the "Wings of Time" has a shorter (non-fluid) storyline which made me confused from the beginning - not that the story really affects anything - but packs better effects, better animation, more colours and very modern music. The different sections had a range of Disney-style tracks; electronic; modern; Coldplay-style atmospheric and full-orchestra sounds which made the show a lot more dynamic.

Since we'd already entered Sentosa and paid the entrance fee of S$4, we decided to walk along Siloso Beach and the Merlion Plaza and see how Sentosa has changed. The Merlion looks a lot prettier now with 'sequins'/reflective metal plates as its whiskers!
A shot of the light display towards Resorts World Sentosa from my Instagram (@lxuisa).
Sentosa has changed so much since the last time I'd been there... Here, I end off with a shot of the mosaic water fountain along the Merlion Walk. I can't deny that it looks magical...
