Finally some time to meet up with the mates for Christmas/New Year 2014/SPY's 1st Jan Belated Birthday Lunch at d'Good Cafe.
Eggs Benedict S$14.50 (bottom right)
Had a bite of Tony's Eggs Benedict (poached eggs) and it was pretty good. Expensive signature dish with a really small serving size. Verdict: Not value-for-money at all.
Scrambled Eggs & Toast S$7.50
Possibly the oddest-looking and oddest-tasting scrambled eggs I have ever eaten. It's a very milky, whitish yellow in real life, and honestly tasted more of milk than of egg, and also tasted like egg mayo - which is not what I expected of scrambled eggs. With that said, it wasn't all that bad, just odd.
Toast was really meh. No other comments, but I've tasted better bread/toast at every brunch place I've ever tried. It's not bad toast, but it just pales in comparison with all the toasts I've ever eaten. It also was very "lightly" toasted, which made it feel soft and as though fresh out the packet. Hmm.
Verdict: Still great for a light meal, if you're not feeling too hungry. It's decently average, if you don't mind the odd scrambled eggs. Haha.
Meatball Marinara S$15
2 extra large meatballs. Not my dish, but I'd tried the meatball and it was not too bad. Perhaps having 4 regular-sized meatballs to go with the pasta would have been better. The "extra large" meatballs (as per the menu description) were rather dry on the inside, most probably because of its size, and there really wasn't much gravy/sauce to spare.
Portobello Pasta S$14
Cafe Latte S$6.50
With the birthday girl!
We got her a handbag from Charles & Keith so she can carry it to work after graduation.
Well, well, today cues 2 more days to the beginning of the next school semester, and 5 modules for me.
I. Think. I'm. Ready!
